Maple Basil “Honey” Mustard Dressing

Sweet heat Honey Mustard style but without the honey, honey. Most folks forget that honey is not vegan and although honey has excellent benefits, we’re in vegan world at Live Lynnette so I’ll leave it between you and Google to get the details 🙂

Instead of honey, I’ve added Grade B Maple Syrup which adds a richer taste and it’s own nutritional benefits. All grades of maple syrup (not the imitation, though) contain the minerals zinc, manganese, potassium, magnesium, iron and calcium. Since the darker the color means more minerals are present, Grade B is a great choice.

The best thing about basil, besides it’s antibacterial properties, is that ANYONE can grow it, just pick a sunny window and plenty of water. Boom. Live Food.

This dressing is simple yet versatile; add a little more mustard for a sauce/spread or add a little more vinegar to lightly wet your greens. It also works as a great marinate for anything.
